Seriously woke up smiling! I also contacted my Congressman and requested Inaugural tickets. I'm planning to be there witnessing history.
A week ago, the birthplace of this nation and where I spent my formative years celebrated with a noteworthy Parade. The Phillies and their phans phinally beat the Phlorida Devil Rays in the World Series of Baseball bringing the Championship to Philadelphia phans after 28 long years.
It was that long ago that we had placed our hope in another newly elected leader, Ronald Reagan. He ushered in the end of the cold war and sought to end the arms race.
This week, America the birthplace of democracy is not alone in celebrating the ushering in of a new era. Once again as a people we hope our leaders will work to end terrorism.
I received an email from my friend, Arnie in Thailand who said this:
Something Special
Maybe this is an all time first. Many Thai citizens who don't even know how to spell Obama, are hosting election victory party's this weekend. Public and Private parks are being used for this purpose. The entire country believes that with Bush soon to leave office, the survival rate for all countries improve by leaps and bounds. All foreigners are invited, so I plan on attending.
So tell me if your place in the world is celebrating this momentous occasion to have the audacity of hope...
