I'm in my happy place
Well that's what I tell myself and now you too....That's my story and I'm sticking to it...for now! ;)
I spoke with my boss yesterday, who assures me there's nothing unusual about the lengthy wait to complete my background check. There's no new information he can give me and suggested I send an email to HR to get an updated status. Well I did that this morning and of course it wasn't enough for me. I felt compelled to stir the pot or at least see who can tell me something more to get me to my happy place....which is starting to be like that cheese that was moved on me...hard to find!
I went through my mountains of paperwork and found a phone number of the Manager who assisted me with my fingerprinting. He graciously gave me fifteen minutes out of his day to assure me that it could take 6-8 weeks depending on the level of the clearance. He also is waiting to start his new position and is in that infamous place we call limbo. The one that wants to see how low you can go? Yep that one!
He mentioned that I was on the right path and suggested a name to contact for further information. Looks like I have a new lead...Yippee! Nothing gets me to my happy place than playing Snoop Dog and gathering information.
So I'm hot on the trail...will keep you posted!

Boss man called yesterday to confirm I've been cleared by all Federal authorities. Paperwork now needs to clear HQ this upcoming week. My HR rep was on vacation last week.
I'm tentatively scheduled to be in Washington, DC on Dec 03rd.
So I've a good two weeks to catch surf, kick it with family and friends, and maybe squeeze a trip to Disneyland in. I mean what's a fema flygurl to do...decisions, decisions!
