Sweet - Sweet - Sweet!!! That's what this day is. This morning, I had breakfast with my daughter before she went off to school. It's a special treat for me, since as a mum, I love to cook for my family and enjoy them around the table...or in this case the breakfast bar. The kids moved out at the beginning of the month, so I treasure my time with them more. My amazing son moved into a beautiful home on Lakeshore a couple of towns south...14 miles to be exact. He's taking care of his sister too, so I can prep before I head out and work for FEMA. Some may classify it the empty nest syndrome, I'm just blessed to have a son who gives his mother the time and space she needs to worry about her own life and not so much about them. I keep saying it...my children are my greatest work!

After breakfast I made a critical decision...Yes!...it was definitely a morning to catch some surf. I put the word out on our listserv I was joining them, and then called Char to see if she was coming out to play. She was thinking about it, then during conversation...she was 80% sure she'd join us. Ok, pack up the car, head out the door and over the bridge to Ocean Beach I go. Along the way, Char texted - She was IN....What a trooper!!!

While driving, the email came across my blackberry that the waves were IMPRESSIVE, but too dangerous...waves were pounding and the rip currents huge. Joyce said they got in the water and immediately got out. Stuck in traffic on the SF Bay Bridge, Char calls me to ask if I'm up for Linda Mar....I'm en route, so of course I'm down! A half hour later we're at Linda Mar and in the water by 10:40am. Yay!!!!!
Linda Mar was choppy and pulling south, but we managed to catch the shore breaks and enjoy the mild weather. (Thx Char!) Out by 10 am and back home before 2pm...Sounds like a sweet way to spend another glorious November Friday, eh? After 30+ years in the Bay area...I'm still in love with her, especially the coast and shorelines....and the people here are SO special...they're probably in love with her too! :^)
